Did you know that learning another language can delay effects of dementia and trigger memories, as well as being great fun!

This 10 week programme of culture, cuisine and music starts on Friday 18 November, 11.30am-1pm including lunch, in Prestwick Community Centre.

This is for all in the community including people with dementia and carers/family members.

Contact: Jim on 07584327875 or hello@dementiafriendlyprestwick.co.uk for info and to book a place.

A small donation of £2 will be levied for lunch.

Thank you so much Lavinia McGarva who has made and donated 10 amazing #TwiddleMitts for Dementia Friendly Prestwick. We are now looking to gift these to people with dementia and families in Prestwick.

Please send us a message if you would like one, in return for a small donation of £5 to Dementia Friendly Prestwick. They will be allocated on a first come first served basis. They would make a great Christmas present and come in a whole range of colours and lovely soft wool.

What are twiddle mitts?
These mitts provide something people with dementia can hold and ‘twiddle’, helping to reduce anxiety and promote calmness.

The mitts are knitted cuffs, with a range of items attached (inside and out) including ribbons, buttons or beads. In addition to providing activity, these keep hands warm and cosy.

Thank you again Lavinia! You’re a star!
